Thanks for the info Eric I didn't know that about Shuri-Ryu and the inclusion of Wunsu.

My Sensei received two of her Dan ranks from Allen Wheeler. She has discussed the style of Isshin-Ryu with us in detail over the years and has taught many Isshin-Ryu forms to her students. I also trained for a couple years with a gentleman named David Brewer, in Odo Kempo Kobudo, who's empty hand style was Isshin-Ryu. It is said that Master Trias' inclusion of the Kata Wunsu into his Shuri-Ryu curriculum was as a tribute to Master Shimabuku. That is the reason it is called "Dragon Boy Form".

One of the most interesting Isshin-Ryu forms I have seen would be Seiunchin.

I'm not an Isshinryu player - I just work out with some of them. I used to study it long ago. Our kata are different from Isshinryu. Even Naihanchi Sho is vastly different from yours.

What's your favorite Isshinryu kata?
Mine is Chinto, I don't know I guess it just relaxes me

I work out with Hanshi Jim LaRocco (9th Dan taught by Angi Uezu) at the same dojo. We cross-train every once in a while and I wanted to create a place for followers of Isshin-Ryu. Welcome.
