About Shuri-Te Jiu-jitsu

Kanji:

Synopsis: A non-specific style of Jiu-jitsu which is a complete system emphisizing control and immobilization of an opponent by striking vital points, throwing, grappling, joint locking, foot sweeping, bone bending and crossing, choking, dislocating, etc. It is a separate art from Shuri-Ryu Karate with its own requirements.

In training, our creed is: "Be courteous, considerate, cooperative and careful"

Meridian Locations - There's a new app out for the iPhone (if you're lucky enough to have one). It's called "Points". It lists all of the meridians, each location, and a picture with the location. You can look up the entire meridian line, or a speciic point. It costs $20 - but easier than carrying around a big chart or a book. Has come in very handy for my study.

I just wanted to say hi, and thank you for a great web site. I am fortunate to train with Tashi Price for just a month. I intend to stay and learn more from a great Dojo. He is amazing. Which I can call a friend and a great teacher. I hope the training and wisdom I learn from him, I can pass it to others. Thank you again.

I've added the new link to the Shuri-Te Bujutsu Kai here. Wasn't aware that Tashi Price had a website, so here it is. My email isn't correct there - but I've got a correction request in...

Brian - Your question on Shuri-Te Jiu-Jitsu: Yes, it is a separate art from Shuri-Ryu Karate with its own requirements. However, there is an amazing bit of overlapping knowledge. I have a requirements list if you are interested, and there are books available from Tashi Price that you can purchase which go over the requirements. Tashi is here on Warrior Pages - you can contact him directly.

I am amazed at the fluidity of Tashi Price, and am curious if Shuri-Te Jiu-Jitsu is a seperate art from Shui-Ryu, or is it an art inside Shuri-Ryu. If someone could give me more information on Shuri-Te I would greatly appreciate it.
