Warrior Pages Martial Arts Society

Just want to know if you have the new rank requirements for Shuri-Te. If not, here is the current copy. If you have any questions, please let me or Tashi Price know about it.

Note: This version is NOT the latest with the typo corrections. When I post that, I'll erase this note...

I got to witness a Shuri-Te test today. Tashi Price was down and Sensei Baker took the opportunity to test them with him down. I'd like to see the requirements to help me remember what I saw during the test.

By the way, congratulations to everyone that tested at Shuhari. You all looked great and deserve the promotions.

I will be up-dating the requirements list again, hope to have it ready by the end of Nov. Nothing major just some typo, and complete the list up through 6th dan.

Sensei Forrester,

Would you mind sending me a copy of the Shuri-te Requirements? I always hear how closely related Shuri-te and Shuri-ryu are, but wouldn't mind having the two sets of requirements in front of me to see them side by side. thank you in advance, and again, thank you for your many contributions to this site.

Thank-you Mr. Spalsbury -

While Tashi Price is getting me the requirements. I'll post the version that I have which should be 96% correct (if I know Tashi - - - he's such a perfectionist....)

By the way - Tashi Price has Class Notes for sale as well. You can contact him directly here on Warrior Pages and order them. They are very well documented, and they have lots of drawings which helps you to understand the techniques. However, you should have a qualified Shuri-Te instructor as there are a lot of things which aren't in the notes...

I have a chance to train with Tashi Troy J. Price on August 1, 2009 Concord N.C. At Dale Jordan's Dojo What should I expect?

You should expect to learn a lot - if he asks, I would volunteer to be an uke if I were you. You learn much more when you do that. Tashi Price is a great teacher and regardless of your skill level, you will learn lots of things. Pay attention and ask questions.

I trained with Dale and Tashi in Dallas, NC a few weeks ago - was a great time.
