Bryan Jackson began his study of the martial arts more than twenty five years ago as a young boy. He earned his first black belt in Tae Kwon Do as a teenager. He utilized his skills in numerous security positions for various companies, both public and private in West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. These real world experiences improved his martial arts skills and led him on his search for more knowledge.

In 1989 studies began with Julio Zarate, Ryu-Jin Jiu jitsu at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Over the next ten years of studying and practicing the traditional Japanese style of Jiu-Jitsu , Shihan Zarate began to teach more students. The Dojo / school at the National Naval Medical Center was started. Bryan was the first student and first instructor. Studying , teaching, and developing his skills and knowledge, along with the school over the next few years would be a learning experience unlike no other. The curriculum included, weapons training, Adult JiuJitsu classes, Competitions, Women’s self defense classes, and seminars for the Navy personnel, their families. Seminars were also held for many public and private organizations.

Over the next 15 years Training and competitions in Jiu Jitsu and Aikido took him across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
