Hi Ronnie,
Shuri Ryu is an Okinawan style of karate-do founded by Robert Trias. Here is a description found on Hanshi Ridgely Abele's website that I think is a great description of what we do: Karate-do is a physical exercise composed of blocking, striking, kicking, sweeping, and moving techniques designed to achieve a mental state, which results in not only the physical ability to defend oneself, but also the development of the mind and spirit .
Shuri Te Jiu Jitsu is an expression and study of aspects of the nine moving forces, as described by Shuri Ryu Karate-do. If you contact Tashi Troy Price through this ning/Warrior Pages website, I know he can best answer your Jiu Jitsu questions :) looking forward to more discussions...Ali-Jae
